Gurnet Light is also known as Plymouth Light Station, which refers to the tower itself, light keeper's cottage, and whistle house. It is on the Duxbury side of Plymouth Harbor on a penninsula known as Saquish Head.
The original Plymouth Light Station had two light towers until one was demolished in 1924 and was closer to the edge of the bluff before it was moved back 90 feet in 1998 due to beach erosion.
