Lawson Tower Oil Pastel
Oil Pastel Artwork and Prints by Dominic White
This painting of Lawson Tower was done in 2016 after a visit to my home town of Scituate, Massachusetts where the tower is located.
In 1902 a multimillionaire named Thomas Lawson paid to have the unsightly 276,000 water tank across from his "Dreamworld" estate encased in a European style castle turret so it would improve his view. He spared no expense and even put ten bells in the top of the tower, the largest weighing 3000 lbs.
